Red Bull’s Formula One team have been pushing the boundaries of excellence since entering the paddock in 2005. The next large step for the team was to build their own engine. A factory extension and new facility specifically for the Powertrains team was required.

Red Bull Racing in Formula 1 CEO and Team Principle, Christian Horner, said: “This represents a significant step for Red Bull in its Formula One journey. We now begin the work of bringing the power unit division inhouse and integrating the new facilities and personnel into our Technology Campus.”

Two areas of the site required Medium Risk Pollution removal and therefore a SPEL ESR Bypass 320C1/ESR stormwater treatment device was utilised in one area and a 350C1/ESR (pictured here) was utilised in the other area, both sized to meet their respective catchment areas.

The car parking area only required treatment up to a SuDS low risk Pollution Hazard Index and therefore the smaller footprint, vertical design SPEL Smartceptor SHV300/70 was used to meet the required catchment area.
