SPEL Septic Tanks

Since 1975 SPEL Septic Tanks have been a core item of our product range, from the original ‘onion shaped’ design through to more complex horizontal tank systems supplied as part of framework agreements to water companies. The sizes range from domestic applications with capacity of a few thousand litres up to a maximum single piece tank of 300,000 litres. Multiple tank systems are available for even greater treatment capacity. There are a number of accessories that can be fitted to SPEL Septic Tanks to enhance and simplify their operation and maintenance.

SPEL Septic Tanks are designed with reference to BS EN 12566 and should be connected to a correctly designed and built herringbone soakaway, part of this process is ensuring percolation tests are conducted in accordance with BS 6297 (see details below).

The full range of Septic Tanks starts at 3000L capacity and extends to 300,000L capacity in a single tank. These systems can be further enhanced with the addition of benching, additional baffle walls and Bauer connectors, the Bauer connectors allow for safe and simple, odour free emptying of the septic tank.
