Case Study | Supporting Sustainable Sewage Treatment Logistics at Axis Works, Avonmouth | Wastewater

 

Major logistics and distribution hubs continue to expand across the UK, and supporting infrastructure that is resilient and environmentally responsible has become increasingly important. At Plot 1, Axis Works, Avonmouth, SPEL Products supplied one SPEL PuraFluent® Sewage Treatment Plant System comprising of two tanks (PF300/HVY) to support the site’s up to 300 population equivalent (PE) wastewater treatment requirements.

Located within the wider Axis Works development at Avonmouth, Bristol, the project forms part of a significant industrial and logistics hub designed to meet the growing demands of modern distribution and fulfilment operations.

 

Delivering Reliable Wastewater Treatment

Large-scale commercial and logistics facilities such as this generate substantial wastewater flows and require dependable treatment infrastructure that can operate efficiently long-term. For projects of this nature, sewage treatment solutions must balance environmental compliance, operational reliability, and whole-life performance. To support these objectives, SPEL supplied two PF300/HVY PuraFluent® tanks.

The SPEL PuraFluent range has been developed to provide effective wastewater treatment for a wide variety of commercial, industrial and residential applications. Available as both standard and bespoke solutions, PuraFluent systems can be tailored to the specific requirements of each site while achieving high levels of treatment performance.

**SPEL Separators are designed for a maximum flow (NS/NSB) but can be fitted with larger than the recommended maximum connection size IN/OUT or with the addition of adapters providing the maximum flow (NS/NSB) cannot be exceeded or any increase in the operating level in the SPEL Separator to cause the captured pollutants to escape into the vent connections or through access shaft connections. Any overriding of the above criteria could jeopardise performance to the European Standard BS EN 858-1.
