Case Study | Glasshoughton | ESR Range Bypass Treatment System

The Prism Park Industrial Distribution Development, located in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, is a prime example of modern industrial real estate aimed at meeting the growing demands for logistics and distribution space in the UK. This strategic development, situated close to Junction 31 of the M62 motorway, capitalizes on Wakefield’s excellent transport connectivity, making it a desirable location for businesses involved in distribution, logistics, and light industrial operations.

Fairhurst, the consulting engineer for the project called in SPEL’s expertise to meet strict SuDS water quality requirements, to a medium-risk pollution hazard index.

SPEL’s ESR Stormceptor was perfect for the requirement, being fully tested by HR Wallingford to BS EN 858 (providing a 0.9 for hydrocarbon removal) and follow-up testing of the unit, overseen by Wrc provided the unit with a 0.8 TSS removal and a 0.6 Metals removal. For this site, a bespoke settlement/separation solution with a pumped outlet was required to remove any paper labels that may enter the drainage network following cleaning processes within Unit 2 at the site.
